Our Studio Space Expands Once More!

Fifth Annual Art Exhibition and Celebration

Join us for a spectacular evening at a private club in Richmond, Virginia to celebrate the healing power of art. Our art exhibition and silent auction feature works for sale by professional artists and program participants, as well as AFJ staff and volunteers. Proceeds from ticket and art sales support our mission to overcome barriers and promote wellbeing in underserved communities across Central Virginia.

Let’s Paint the Lilies!

Art for the Journey is raising funds for art kits to be delivered to many adults and children for whom we serve art programs designed to promote well-being. During the weeks where we are unable to be together face to face, these kits will provide retreat, opportunity for creative expression and hopefully well-being in the most socially isolated people of our community. We invite community artists to join the plein-air painting experience at a beautiful daylily farm in Chesterfield County to help support this initiative. We are excited to have the opportunity to be socially distant and paint in a lovely setting, and raise funds to help others all at the same time!

Fairfax Delegate Kaye Kory invites Art for the Journey to join with organizations such as Northstar Academy and ARC in an art exhibit that highlights individuals living with disabilities, and focuses on ability through a colorful and well attended art exhibit. Delegates from across the Commonwealth are invited attend a reception and look at beautiful art with artists, advocates, and organizations, and the general public.

You are cordially invited to our Annual Art Exhibit Gala to witness a year's worth of "Art That Frees the Spirit"! Inspired by the French plein air painters, the evening will include decadent hors d'oeuvres, wine, live music, and fine art by Richmond area professionals, AFJ program participants, and artist volunteers. Your presence will provide an art class for someone who needs its healing benefits: a veteran, a woman in prison, a child in an underserved community, a medical student, a person with dementia.
