ART SHOW – “Opening Minds Through Art” Friday, April 27, 2018

This week, Art for the Journey will showcase artwork by 17 participants of the Miami University – Scripps Gerontology Center “Opening Minds Through Art” program facilitated by Art for the Journey at Saint Mary’s Woods Retirement Community in Richmond, VA.  To learn more about this amazing and wonderful program which has been recognized both nationally and internationally winning awards for innovative ways to promote wellbeing in the lives of people with dementia or Alzheimers go to:  www.scrippsoma.org.  The opening reception will be held on Friday, April 27 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and the exhibit will remain open for one month.  Come meet the artists and the art partners from VCU ASPiRE, as well as community volunteers and Art for the Journey staff.  To quote our community partner, Nan Pascal, “I hope OMA becomes an epidemic!” (after witnessing such a positive impact in the lives of the residents who participate and in the overall community), come see why!
