We are planning for one of the largest and most wonderful Art Exhibit – Galas to date!
The third annual Art for the Journey Art Exhibit Gala event will be held at the University of Richmond Jepson Center. Sponsors have already supported the event in the planning, including the Media Sponsor, CBS 6, who will do P.S.A.’s leading up to the event. Award winning CBS Reporter, Greg McQuade will Emcee the event. Daphne Reid, from “Virginia Currents” will participate in the Gala with a book signing with books of the beautiful photography she created from doors around the world. A stunning Napa Valley Wine tour and retreat has been donated for our silent auction, music is being planned, wine and refreshments, and, a top level art exhibit with the artwork of local artists and Art for the Journey volunteer artists. In addition, artwork will be showcased by women in prison, people with dementia, school children from East End of Richmond, and from children from rural Ruther Glen, our veterans and much more! This year’s theme is “A Road Less Traveled.”
The Mission of Art for the Journey is to overcome barriers and transform lives through creating art. We believe that ART HEALS. Please consider submitting artwork to be juried for this extraordinary event, which will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the University of Richmond Jepson Center. Your art sales will help Art for the Journey create many more opportunities to promote and receive wellbeing through creative expression.
Art for the Journey requests that artists submit 4 images of current artwork, to be juried by anonymous panel of Richmond professional artists, with a deadline of September 1, 2018. (If possible, please submit an image of pieces you plan to exhibit at the event, but this is not mandatory). A follow up letter will be sent to you after the jury process, and at which point we will need dimensions, medium, and price to be confirmed. Images for the actual artwork to be exhibited need to emailed to Art for the Journey by September 20th, 2018 to be featured in mailing to guests and to the general public for sale.

Art for the Journey requests a donation of 50% of the sales price be made at point of sale on the night of the Gala. Art for the Journey will administer sales at the event. Net payment to artists for art sales to be made with in 45 days of the event.
