ArtoberVA2019 is a monthlong celebration presented by CultureWorks, and your chance to discover our community’s rich artistic and cultural life!
Art for the Journey is honored to be a part of Richmond’s exciting, cultural life, and to bring art to oftentimes forgotten members of our community, such as incarcerated women, people with dementia and Alzheimers, U.S.Veterans suffering combat related PTSD, and school children in underserved and low income areas around the city, and more.
CultureWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which is driving a vibrant community by inspiring, enabling and cultivating world-class arts and culture.
CultureWorks provides support for Art for the Journey by providing grant funding towards operational support enabling our staff and volunteers to promote positive mental health and well-being through creative expression in underserved communities throughout RVA. We are so grateful for this support and super proud to be an ArtoberVA2019 Champion!
The Art for the Journey Art Exhibit GALA is a featured event on the CultureWorks calendar because area Artists from many art organizations have come together to provide an amazing exhibit. Net proceeds from the sale of Art benefit Art for the Journey programs. The event is absolutely lovely, held at the University of Richmond Jepson Alumni Center, with music, delicious wine and refreshments, and a broad display of juried art. Don’t miss it!
