Art for the Journey never skipped a beat! Even with shut-down and no entry of volunteers became the Covid protocol of 2020, 2021 and 2022, we remained dedicated to our friends the elder artists at SMW. We created a virtual OMA that was delivered by ear phones and monitors and zoom break-out rooms.

The Virtual OMA was a wonderful way to continue social engagement and well-being through creative expression for Elders who were impacted severely through the Covid 19 pandemic. When even family members could not enter, Saint Mary's Woods supported their residents as OMA Facilitators, and Art for the Journey engaged student volunteers by zoom.

Finally, in February 2023, Art for the Journey volunteers can enter the building! The session is now in full swing and will culminate with a very special art show and reception in April. We are all rejoicing to be together with our friends, and seeing beautiful art created too!
