Meet our 2022-2023 Federal Work-Study team! Art for the Journey is honored to have this exceptionally talented student staff team assist us in all of our programs, as well as in our administrative work delivering our mission to the Richmond region and beyond. These students will work with children in our youth programs, veterans, seniors in our OMA program and the OMA certification course. They will also learn and participate in the creation of a public television show, art exhibitions throughout the region, and fundraising events that support our work promoting well-being for children, adults and seniors across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
In their words:
Jessica France –
Hi! I’m Jess, I’m originally from Washington State. I moved to Virginia summer of 2019 with my partner and our dog Tim. I’m currently a Junior at VCU majoring in Psychology. Outside of work and school you can often find me in the kitchen, cooking or baking something new. One of the biggest reasons I’m excited to be working with Art for the Journey is the opportunity to be more involved with the community!
Audrey Hale –
My name is Audrey! As an aspiring artist and art major at VCU, my love for the arts extends to the work I do as a work-study student with Art for the Journey. I’m so grateful to be able to work with a group committed to bringing the art making process to underserved communities and spreading joy and creativity.

Jordan Dobra –
Hi! I’m Jordan, I have been apart of the Art for the Journey work-study team for four years now! I have always held a love for art and I am majoring in social work at VCU. Art for the Journey has allowed me to bring my passions of creativity and promoting well-being within the community together.
Loren Vincent –
My name is Loren Vincent. I am a freshman and my major is Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. I love art because it is so calming and relaxing. It helps me to practice mindfulness and destress. I heard about Art for the Journey through guest speakers in my Creative Express Healing class. After hearing the presentation and hearing about the opportunity of a work-study job, I wanted to know more.
Briseily Cejudo –
Hi! My name is Brisa. I go to the University of Richmond where I am pursuing a major in Biology and minor in Economics. I love volunteering at Art for the Journey because I love working creatively with others and coming up with amazing art pieces.
Anujin Dorjderem-
Hi, my name is Jin! I’m a freshman at VCU and I’m majoring in Psychology. I’m hoping to go into psychiatry, but no promises there. Art is one of my favorite things to do (alongside watching movies and sleeping) and I find that working with kids can be really engaging, so I think that Art for the Journey was a pretty good fit for me.
