Art for the Journey welcomes artists to join us for this fun day in RVA!
Art for the Journey overcomes barriers and transform lives through art. Every day we provide programs that are designed to promote positive mental health and well-being in children and adults through creative expression.
To raise awareness and funds for the programs, our friend and neighbor, Don Bright in North Chesterfield, VA, has invited artists to enter a “secret garden” of thousands of lush and beautiful daylilies and more. For a donation of $25, artists can come and be a part of something that will help hundreds of underserved people in Richmond.

In addition to the plein air painters, photographers, musicians, dancers, writers and artists of all mediums are welcome to find inspiration in the daylilies. Come join us and create!
The event happens in land behind the Food Lion on Lucks Lane in North Chesterfield. Please park in the Food Lion Parking Lot, and look for the Art for the Journey signs. A shuttle will be available to transport you and your easel/equipment for the first hour and at the end of the time for painting 9:00am to noon. (You may be able to stay later to finish, with permission from the property owner Don Bright). Because it is a wild but well kept field, Don recommends boots to prevent critters from interfering with the creative and lovely experience.
