Like many of us, I’ve experienced life’s ups and downs, and throughout it all, art has remained a constant—an essential outlet for my well-being. The mission of Art for the Journey speaks to me because it embraces creativity as a powerful tool for healing and connection. Volunteering and teaching art at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women allows me to share what has been so vital in my own life. I’ve seen how art can inspire hope, build community, and offer a path toward healing—and I’m grateful to be part of a mission that brings that experience to others.
