Art Cafe at Marywood

Twice monthly at Marywood Senior Apartments, residents come together to make art in an uplifting environment alongside community volunteers and art instructors. Participants are free to create guided abstract art projects with authentic tools – based on the best-practice OMA model – or to develop artwork with the guidance of the art instructor. The original artwork is displayed in an annual art show and exhibited in the broader community.

The Art Cafe fosters intergenerational connection while building new skills and cultivating creativity. A successful intergenerational program is a collaborative experience, with both younger and older generations contributing to the exchange in a meaningful and deliberate manner.
