Summer Interns at Art for the Journey bring their hearts to our mission!

We are elated and delighted by these brilliant and generous students who have joined Art for the Journey to support our summer programs in studio, and on site at the Anna Julia Cooper School, Camp Wannacure for children living with Juvenile Diabetes, the Youth Life Foundation, and Opening Minds through Art (OMA).

Why these amazing people chose to work with Art for the Journey:

My name is Emeline Eisele, and I am a rising senior at William and Mary, studying psychology. I am interested in pursuing art therapy after graduation. I first heard about Art for the Journey from their work with the Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School, which AFJ works with year-round. I support the mission of AFJ because of my own experiences with the healing power of art and because I witness how much of an impact their work can make in a person’s life.

Hello, my name is MaLeah. I’m a recent graduate of Goochland High School and will be attending Old Dominion University this fall to study Psychology. I’m an L4 student in Partnership for the Future and was placed with Art for the Journey for my summer internship. I’m excited for this opportunity because I’m passionate about helping others and look forward to learning how art can be used to inspire and heal people in meaningful ways.

“My name is Destiny McDonald, I am an upcoming senior in high school and I am interning at Art for the Journey this summer. I found this through a wonderful college program, Partnership for the Future, and it has been great so far. It is very interesting and hearing their missions and journeys from the start to now is very amazing and I’m glad to be a part of it. Art for the Journey is a great non-profit organization that contributes art into life which is heavily needed for many people. Through this business they have changed many lives of others and brought art to modern times.”

Welcome to Art for the Journey! Emeline, MaLeah, and Destiny, we are elated you have joined our mission to transform lives through art and community!
