Thanks to a supportive grant awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts, ongoing support from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and grant funding from the Alzheimers Foundation of America, Art for the Journey can offer scholarships for the upcoming in-person OMA certification training!
The next OMA certification training will be held at Art for the Journey’s new studio location in Richmond, Virginia on February 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2026! The later training is being planned for Norfolk, Virginia in April (details to follow).
The tuition for the OMA Certification course is $1,000.00. This includes the fun and engaging in-person hands on OMA Facilitator training, a large binder with all materials including OMA volunteer training, funding resources, (and the entire training in print), thumb drives containing videos for the volunteer training, sharable interviews highlighting reasons to implement OMA, and heartfelt student perspectives about the program, as well as research data and surveys to continue collecting data for the evidence based and award-winning program.
Once certified, individuals become a part of the international cadre of OMA certified individuals with groups to connect with, support from the team at Scripps Gerontology Center, lists of art-making materials needed with links, and access to scores of OMA projects, as well as credentials/badges to present professionally, and everything you need to begin to implement OMA. CEU’s are available for NCCAP and NCCDP.
